Why I HATE Sin and LOVE the Sinner.

I saw a video today in which a young man used rhyming words to denounce religion, I admit it was catchy. His discourse held glimpses of Truth, that is, Christ. The Word Incarnate , the Author of Life. Yet this person missed the reality of His Church which sanctifies the Sacraments of Salvation. The Grace of The Holy Eucharist that restores life. It is to this end that I disagree with his point of not needing religion. For Father Steven Anthony Gamez it is because of my religion that I have Faith. Trust and Faith in His Body and Blood. My advice to the faithful as your Spiritual father is to not forget about apologetics. Viva Cristo Rey! Viva la Virgen de Guadalupe!

Reality

On May 17th I will have been ordained a priest for three years. Before this and all my time in seminary, I anticipated and looked forward to celebrating the Sunday Liturgy; not knowing how well I would become acquainted with the Funeral Rite. Praying for and burying the dead is a large part of my mortal life and will be until I meet the grave. Lord Have Mercy on our Faithful Departed.

The Calling on PBS

Last night I was on national television, all because of the hard work of my good friend Daniel Alpert. He is a man of integrity and life; I am a better priest because of him. The whole experience of being part of PBS' Independent Lens Series showing of "The Calling" has not fully sunk in. The film showed me as I am; I made myself completely visible to the camera. I pray that this film will bring people closer to God and His Love. I am truly blessed.

Administrator

I am now the Administrator of a poor parish. This is what I asked for in prayer; and the Lord let not his servant go without. I wake up early and go to bed late. I seek God's will and must center on love and service. This is much more difficult than I had imagined. "Feed my Sheep". Blessed Be God Forever. Saint Philip of Jesus Ora Pro Nobis

First Year of Priesthood.

There is much sacrifice in the life of a priest, and just when I begin to doubt and to think others are not grateful for our ministry; the faith of one changes everything.
Thank you to all the faithful. Please pray for me; as I pray for you.
Peace and Blessings.

Time Flies; Tempus Fugit

Now I have been ordained for over a month and a half. I am making some mistakes in the Liturgy but am still on "cloud nine". Life is Good; I feel Blessed and am pleased to go to bed exhausted from a long day of ministry. I must continue to pray that God may direct me to which ministry I shall focus this year. Should I make a food bank for the poor, youth ministry, or bring weekly adoration to the Cathedral; I pray for insight. Veritas Pax
